LDC Pakistan Army officers called on the COAST at GHQ and apprised him about the performance of the Corps. They lauded the army’s contribution towards regional peace and stability. They also highlighted the efforts for the elimination of terrorism from the country. The COAS thanked them for sharing their observations and suggestions.

Talking to the media here, he said peace had been restored due to the efforts of armed forces, Rangers and intelligence agencies and terrorists had been defeated. “In our efforts for peace, the country had been put on the road to prosperity,” he said and added there were multiple problems during the last 70 years but the Pakistan Muslim League-N government performed its duties in time and overcame them.
The CM said the country was facing multiple problems and the PML-N government successfully overcome them, adding the country’s economy was rapidly developing and relations of Pakistan with the international community were improving.
He said the PML-N government had put the country on the path to progress and prosperity and there was no contradiction between development and the economy. He said the federal government was only making efforts to cover up its wrongdoings but Pakistan had a very bright future.

The Punjab chief minister said former PM Nawaz Sharif did a great job for peace in the country and added the people had witnessed the development work being done in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the PPP government. “There is no contradiction between politics and the development,” he said. He said Nawaz Sharif has restored the lost glory of Pakistan and his leadership also saved the country from the economic crisis.
Shehbaz said the PML-N government had launched revolutionary programs and developed good governance and strengthened institutions. He said with the completion of all development projects, the people would be provided facilities at their doorsteps. “The PML-N has served the people and the party will serve them even more,” he said. He said the PML-N government had worked day and night to change the destiny of the people and made record development programs and achieved a record success.
The CM said the PML-N government completed energy projects in a record period, adding the PML-N’s government will fulfill its every commitment with the people. He said the government had saved billions of rupees in the power sector, adding billions of rupees of the people were saved due to decisions taken by the PML-N government.
Shehbaz said he had visited Lahore after leaving his office of the chief minister and there were 12,000 streetlights in the city. He said the government would take the responsibility of maintaining these lights and improve their quality.
He said the government also planned to make Lahore as a smart city. Shehbaz said the Punjab government completed a record number of projects during the last three years.
He said the present government would provide record sports facilities in the province. He said the Punjab government has set up many sports complexes in the province, adding the playgrounds of schools and colleges would also be changed into sports grounds. Shehbaz said now is the time to utilize natural resources. He said no burden would be placed on the masses as they are being provided facilities.
